Stephen William Hawking, was the British physicist who brought science to a mass audience with the best-selling book "A Brief History of Time," has died today at his home in Cambridge. He was 76 years old when he died. He was suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was Diagnosed at age 21 and he was one of the world's longest survivors of ALS. He is known for discovering Hawking radiation and formulating the "theory of everything".
