Amitabh Bachchan has sent a legal notice
to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and poet Kumar Vishwas for copyright
violation of his late father Harivansh Rai Bachchan's poem 'Nirman'.
The legal notice said Big B was shocked and surprised to come across a video on the official YouTube page of Kumar Vishwas where he was reciting his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan's poem without being authorised to use the literary works.
Bachchan's lawyers said the video is infringing copyright. They said Kumar's recitation is likely to mislead the public-at-large about its source.
"Your unscrupulous and ignoble acts have caused wrongful loses to our client and wrongful gain to ourselves and further amount to unfair trading and unjust enrichment," the legal notice said.
They asked the AAP leader to immediately take down the video from the YouTube page and provide Bachchan with accounts of all profits earned from "exploitation of the poem".
Asking Kumar Vishwas to immediately take down the video failing which Bachchan's lawyers will be taking legal action.
VIDEO WAS A TRIBUTE
Dr Kumar Vishwas said he received appreciation from all quarters for the video. Apologising for his act, he said it was a tribute to Harivansh Rai Bachchan and he is deleting the YouTube video now.
He also said he is sending Rs 32, which he earned from the YouTube video, to Amitabh Bachchan.
