राष्ट्रपति चुनाव 2017 में आम आदमी पार्टी का मीरा कुमार को समर्थन देने का फैसला

आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) राष्ट्रपति पद के लिए विपक्षी गठबंधन यूपीए की संयुक्त उम्मीदवार मीरा कुमार को सपोर्ट करेगी. आप के संयोजक और दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की अध्यक्षता में गुरूवार को पार्टी की राजनीतिक मामलों की समिति (पीएसी) की बैठक में यह फैसला किया गया. बैठक के बाद पार्टी के नेता संजय सिंह ने बताया कि आप के सांसद और विधायक राष्ट्रपति के लिए आगामी 17 जुलाई को होने वाले चुनाव में मीरा कुमार के पक्ष में मतदान करेंगे. मीरा कुमार को समर्थन देने की वजह बताते हुए संजय सिंह ने कहा कि राष्ट्रपति और उपराष्ट्रपति का चुनाव दलगत राजनीति से ऊपर होता है. इसलिये पार्टी का सैद्धांतिक तौर पर मानना है कि इन दोनों पदों के लिये चुनाव के बजाय सर्वानुमति से सत्तापक्ष और विपक्ष को तय करना चाहिए कि देश का राष्ट्रपति और उपराष्ट्रपति कौन होगा. इससे लोकतंत्र मजबूत होता है. सिंह ने कहा कि मौजूदा परिस्थतियों में विपक्ष की साझा उम्मीदवार को समर्थन देने की जरूरत को देखते हुए पार्टी ने यह फैसला किया है. साथ ही मीरा कुमार ने भी केजरीवाल को फोन कर पार्टी का समर्थन मांगा है.
